Conditioned Air Further Improves Throughput and Product Quality
Milk Products completed a capital investment project this past summer to condition and filter the air coming into the plant. The chiller and air-handling equipment upgrade was part of a capital project to improve dryer and packaging throughput, and overall product consistency.
Historically, we’ve experienced reduced powder throughput at the dryers because air coming into the plant varied in moisture content seasonally; higher air moisture slowed production. Air from the outside is vented into the plant and used in manufacturing. The new chillers remove most of the moisture and send consistent air the dryers used to dry and cool milk replacer powder. Doors and walls have been added to maintain consistent temperature and humidity in the plant, improving packaging area performance. Additionally the air is filtered and UV treated, removing possible contaminants from air entering the plant-- positive powder changes, positive impact on your brand.
